Kindergarten Teacher Biography
Hello! My name is Miss Jo-Vonah Little and I will be your child’s Kindergarten teacher this year. This will be my 3rd year teaching Kindergarten. I have had the honor of attending and graduating from St. A’s. After graduating, I continued to serve the St. A’s school community. Any free time I had, most likely you would find me at the school. I have had the opportunity to work with the children through the summers and have helped in the office during the school years. Prior to COVID, I even had the opportunity to teach dance the past few years for the 4th-8th grade. This past year, I was able to teach dance for grades 1-3. I have an associate degree, bachelor's degree, and always eager to learn new things! I am super excited for the school year to begin so I can meet all of you. I look forward to learning and growing along with both the students and parents. I have always enjoyed going to school and my goal is for your children to feel the same way!

I am thrilled to welcome you and your children to the 2023-2024 school year! Listed below are a few tools that will help prepare your children for the first full day of school. The school day will run from 8:10am-2:45pm. Our first Full Day is Friday, September 8, 2023. The Breakfast Program begins Tuesday, September 5, 2023. The breakfast program will start at 6:30am and the students will be brought up to the classroom at 8:00am. CARES will begin Monday, September 11, 2023. CARES will take place from 2:45pm-5:30pm.
Well rested: Make sure your child had a full night of sleep so they are able to focus and learn the next day.
Uniform: The children are always to be in the regulation school uniform.
Snack: This year, the children will be asked to bring in their own snack for the week. I will supply each child with a Ziploc bag to store the snacks in. Please provide 5 individually packed snacks in the bag, one for each day that will last until the end of the week. I will send home the Ziploc bag every Friday to be refilled for the next week. The children will need a snack for Friday, September 8th. The students must bring their own refillable water bottle. No soda, juice, or glass bottles.
Lunch: The school provides hot lunch, but the students may bring their own lunch. If children bring their own lunch, please do not pack anything that needs to be refrigerated or reheated. Please work with your child on learning how to open food packages and drinks on their own.
Nap time: Children will have about 45 minutes to rest. If the child chooses not to nap, they will be given quiet activities to do.
Supplies: Please make sure the students have all of their supplies. All supplies should be labeled with their name.
Money: If you are sending in money, please make sure it is in an envelope or Ziploc bag with your child’s name, grade, the amount enclosed, and what the money's for.
Homework: Homework will be assigned Monday and due Friday, unless you are notified otherwise. I will also assign optional homework if your child needs more of a challenge.
How am I getting home?: Children should be aware of who is picking them up each day. If there are changes, please email me or notify the office. Children will not be released until I see the guardian who will pick them up. There is a form attached to this that will let me know the people who are able to pick up the children. The children will not be released to anyone not on the list. If children are not picked up by 3:00pm they will be sent to CARES.
Communication: Any information that you will need will be in your child’s folder and posted on the school website.
